Lightroom Account Setup Account Set-Up Guide
If you follow these instructions carefully you should have no trouble setting up your account in Adobe Lightroom. Follow the steps below carefully, don’t get distracted or you will lose your way……. Step 1Turn on computer and click on the Lightroom icon in the dock. The version we use is Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. The icon says Lr. (Above)
Step 2Remove the SD or CD card from the camera.
Step 3When the Lightroom environment opens. Insert your card into the card reader at your computer station (There is a slot for SD cards at the back of the computer.). The Lightroom IMPORT window will open with your photos in the center.
Step 4 Open File Handling. If you are smart, you will plug your flash drive into the computer and check the box that says “Make A Second Copy To:” and save all of your work to a folder you create on this drive.
Step 5Next open File Renaming and check the Rename Files box. This is to keep all projects/photos unique.
Under Template, choose Custom Name – Sequence. In Custom Text name your photos (Ex: disneyland_sept15). Leave Start Number as 1 and Extensions (.JPG, .TIFF etc) : Leave As Is Leave Apply During Import alone Step 6 Destination. This is where you will put your photos.
Check Into Subfolder. Organize: INTO ONE FOLDER (DO NOT ORGANIZE BY DATE). Go back to into subfolder and name it your first and last name with no space (Ex: jennifercaballos) Your pathway will be Macintosh HD - Users-period(?)- Pictures-Photo Folder Click on this Photo Folder and your name should appear below it and just about the file Lightroom (Eventually, you will add SCHOOL and ME as subfolders to the (yourname) folder.) Step 7Click IMPORT. You’re done. And will go back to library and the main window.
